INSPIRE Faculty Scheme opens up an 'Assured Opportunity for Research Career (AORC)' for young researchers in the age group of 27-32 years. It is expected to augment high quality scientific manpower in scientific and educational institutions. This Scheme has been designed to provide contractual research positions to young achievers for independent research and emerge as a leader in future science & technology.
Number of Fellowships: Maximum 1000
Value of the Scholarship: 
To receive a consolidated amount equivalent to the scale of the Assistant Professor of an IIT as Fellowship amount. In addition, a Research Grant of Rs 7 lakh per year for 5 years shall also be provided to each successful candidate.
Duration of the fellowship: 5 years
Eligibility:Indian citizens and people of Indian origin including NRI/PIO status with PhD (in science,
Mathematics, engineering, pharmacy, medicine, and agriculture related subjects) from any recognized university in the world.
Those who have submitted their PhD Theses and are awaiting award of the degree are also eligible.
The upper age limit at the time of awarding the offer should be 32 years for considering support for a period of 5 years.
Candidates who are employed (in any form i.e. permanent, contractual) with any organization within India will be eligible to apply. However, they will be considered only for the Research Grant component of the INSPIRE Faculty Award scheme.
Selection process:
INSA would be requested to coordinate the implementation of INSPIRE Faculty Scheme,
An Apex Level Committee would be constituted for necessary appraisal and making specific recommendations on selection of candidates.
Institutions enjoying the status of Centre of Excellence like IITs, IISc, TIFR, CSIR Laboratories etc. and Central & State Universities selected under PURSE scheme of DST could employ their own internal processes and short-list candidates for induction under INSPIRE Faculty Scheme.
INSA in consultation with DST would prepare a panel of Chairmen and Expert Members for Various disciplines for Institutions to constitute appropriate Appraisal and Screening
Committees, Discipline based committees for evaluating and screening the candidates who apply directly or are nominated without support from Host-Institutions.
INSA in consultation with DST will constitute an Apex Committee to consider the selection of various short-listed candidates.
The applicant needs to find an appropriate host institution anywhere in India for pursuing the INSPIRE Faculty assignment and may be in contact with a senior faculty/scientist in the host institution to prepare the application in consultation with him/her, if necessary.

1. Soldier Tradesman:
Qualification: 8th pass

Age as on date of Rally: Between 17 ½ to 23 years
2. Soldier Technical & Nursing Assistant:
Qualification: 
Sol Tech: 10+2/Intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Math’s and English or VHSE. Part I, II and Gp I of Part III with simple pass with Physics, Chemistry, Math’s and English. Sol NA: 10+2 /Intermediate exam pass in Science with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with 50% marks aggregate and 40% marks in each subject. Or In case of a graduate having B.Sc degree (Botany/ Zoology/ Bio Science) and English (Simple Pass), the Stipulation of percentage in XII is waived off. However, the candidate should have studied all the four specified subjects in class XII also. Or VHSE. Part I, II and Gp II of Part III with 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject

3. Soldier Clerk/Store Keeper:
Qualification: 
Should have secured 50% in aggregate and 40% in each subject in Cl XII. Should have studied English and Math’s/Accts/Book Keeping in SSLC or Cl XII Should have secured min 40% in each of these subjects, whether it was studied in Class X or Class XII If a candidate is graduate with Math’s and English as his subject in B.Sc, the stipulation of scoring 40% in Class XII/SSLC is waived off. In case he is graduate but not having English and Math’s/ Accts/ Book Keeping, He should have scored min 40% in English & Math’s/Accts/Book Keeping at least in Class SSLC or Class XII. Or VHSC Part-I & II and Gp II or III of Part III with 50% marks in aggregate and min 40% in each subject if qualified in math or accounts in class 10th. Simple pass in VHSE if graduate Or Part I & II and Gp I or IV of Part III with 50% marks in aggregate and minimum 40% in each subject if not qualified in math or accounts in class 10th.
